Problem: The original turbine had already operated for one hundred years. When the flood season came, the turbine bucket falling phenomenon happened frequently and the turbine couldn’t reach the rated output and the noise was too loud. That makes the equipment difficult to maintain and operate.
As a consequence, the original runner happened to break after one flood season, and the turbine does not reach the rated output, causing major problems for maintenance and operation.

Solution: After field research, we analyzed the real cause of broken buckets and insufficient output; and the original runner interface dimensions were checked. Then, we formulated a tailored made upgrading plan. After the new runner was installed, the unit output increased significantly, the noise level decreased substantially and the client is very satisfied with the results. The first upgraded runner has been operating for nearly 5 years and the overall condition is outstanding. The client decided to buy 6 more runners from us and all of them are working well.
